We are located in one of the prettiest villages in Yorkshire – Hutton le Hole and offer the perfect base if you are looking to walk, cycle, explore or just relax whilst surrounded by spectacular moorland scenery.
The market towns of Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and Malton are only a short drive away. Whilst Pickering, home to the heritage steam railway is just up the road.
We are perfectly located for anyone wishing to visit the magnificent grounds and stately home of Castle Howard. Or why not take a stunning drive through the Howardian Hills, to York, the beautiful capital of God’s Own Country. Yorkshire’s favourite vet, James Herriot called nearby Sutton Bank, on the Cleveland Way, the best view in England and you can visit the original Skeldale House in Thirsk.
If you love the seaside you’ll find Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay, on the beautiful Yorkshire Coast, make for a wonderful day out.
Walkers can discover a labyrinth of hiking trails directly from our doorstep. Whilst cyclists will find the area is perfect for discovering on two wheels.
The Barn Guesthouse has six pleasantly furnished rooms. And our freshly cooked locally sourced breakfasts are served overlooking the village green.

We are in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and you'll find us nestled in the heart of the village. We're surrounded by pretty stone cottages and a ten minute walk sees you surrounded by heather moorland.
Reservations are confirmed on receipt of your reservation by email or by phone. Bookings must be paid by acceptable and valid credit card, bank transfer or by cash.
All published rates include VAT where applicable (and local taxes) at the current rate.
Rates are per room per night. If you have selected supplements they will be added to the total price of the booking.
Rates quoted are correct only for the specific number of guests, nights and dates shown. Should you change the number of guests, dates or room nights, then the rates are subject to change.
The minimum stay to qualify for the best rates is two nights. One night weekend stays are at our discretion, so please contact us directly for consideration.

We welcome dogs in both the guesthouse and tearoom. Dogs must be booked in advance and we make no charge in exchange for well behaved and friendly dogs. We have two dogs of our own and you might just see them outside in their garden. We have a ‘dog board’ in the tearoom so please feel free to add a photo of your pup.
We welcome children to our accommodation and provide a high chair and cot on-site.
We can sometimes be flexible on arrival and departure dates and times. If you are unable to select the dates you would like in the calendar please contact us.
Check-in is between 3pm – 7pm and check-out is at 10am. Late check in can be arranged by prior arrangement.
Yes, we provide free Wifi although during busy times of the day it can be slow
Kirkbymoorside is 5 minute drive away. You will find supermarkets, bakeries, post office and the medical centre.
Thank you for asking! Yes, we do. Muddy boots and muddy dogs are very welcome, however, treading mud through the house makes extra work for us when you leave. We really appreciate that you leave your muddy boots and all muddy items at the door. We can provide an outdoor hose, newspaper and bags for wet boots. Dog towels available on request.
